the quality of the ingredients were fresh. The hotel is in a tranquil area yet conveniently close to tourist attractions. Don't miss a walk near the river—a lovely experience! My twin room offered a peaceful garden view, enhancing my stay.

The location was stunning right by the river 🌊! The meals were delicious, especially dinner. Sadly, the bathroom could’ve been updated a bit – it was small and felt old-school.

The Japanese-Style Quadruple Room with Garden View featured a cozy atmosphere with traditional futons, making it a genuine experience. The kaiseki dinner was carefully crafted and truly an artful culinary journey.

The hotel felt a bit outdated, with rooms lacking modern upgrades and some amenities that could use improvement. The public bath seemed standard, and there was no hot spring, which might disappoint those expecting a more immersive onsen experience. It was frustrating that the check-out time was enforced strictly, resulting in a door being opened without a prior knock, adding a layer of discomfort.

A bit dated!!! No thermostat in the room made temperature control frustrating!!! The public bath lacked any special features and felt standard at best!!! The bathroom had a slight sewage odor, which could use addressing!!!

I stayed in a Japanese-Style Quadruple Room with Garden View. The space was cozy and came with a nice garden view, which added a relaxing touch. The room itself was clean, but I wished the bathroom had a little more attention to detail. Also, I really appreciated that they provided yukatas to use for the public bath, although I was a bit hesitant to try it. Staff were welcoming, which made the experience nicer overall.

Free Wi-Fi in rooms worked well. staff unfriendly during check-in and check-out.

The Japanese bath was super relaxing after a long day. the location made it easy to explore nearby shrines.

I had a lovely stay at Ranzan. The location was simply beautiful, being near the Arashiyama Park and the bamboo grove, perfect for morning strolls. Dinner was a stunning kaiseki experience, with each dish artfully presented and delicious. The staff were kind and provided yukatas for the public bath, making it a special touch.

Public bath could use updates.

Charming location, helpful staff, close proximity to the nearby train station made our stay delightful as we easily explored the scenic area and enjoyed the delicious breakfast offerings in the restaurant.

Had a fantastic stay with friends! We loved visiting Arashiyama Park and the bamboo grove nearby. The meals were a delight, especially dinner, served at the in-house restaurant. Plus, the staff were friendly and provided us with yukatas for the public bath, which added to the authentic experience.
